DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS

The answer no doesn’t mean to stop working on your goals and dreams, it just means you need to try again or try a different way, change directions, making U turns––-if your plan A doesn’t work, remember there are 25 more letters in the alphabet and there are an infinite number of numbers and roman numbers too–-just don’t give up on your dreams and goals–-they were given to you for a reason. Don’t let your dreams die with you. I love what Les Brown says about this topic “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.” Think of all the modern inventions, comforts and rights we have today….computers, cell phones, women’s right to vote, Black American’s right to vote, light bulbs…what if those people who invented or conceived those ideas just gave up in their dreams?

Have you seen Matrix? Remember if the Neo would take the red or blue pill something would happen
to him–

Morpheus “You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes”

What does this mean to your dreams, hopes, goals, life and Making U Turns? Well let’s put it this way, there are many realities in this world and each one has been constructed based on each persons past and their perspectives of that past and what’s going on around them at this very moment. So with so many realities, which one is real? And how do you know which is real or a construct of someone else's reality?

The only real truth that I know of comes from God, He is the creator of this world, of you and He knows all.  Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee…

So what is His truth about you and your dreams, hopes, goals and life? First and foremost he loves all of His children, enough that he set His only begotten to suffer and die for us–-huge sacrifice, which would obviously prove his love for us (not that He needs prove it, but just in case you doubted His love for you). In the scriptures it says …men are, that they might have joy 2Nephi 2:25–-so  God actually created us to be happy–happiness to me is being fulfilled and being able to live out my dreams, goals…I mean if we weren’t meant to live our dreams why would we be given them? So what does this all mean? It means you should pursue your dreams and set goals to achieve them, be happy and find joy in your life. If you don’t know how to do that pray and ask for guidance from the individual who planted those ideas and dreams in your mind. He may lead you to finding mentors, life coaches, therapists…etc to help you.

“You were born with the right to be happy. You were born with the right to love, to enjoy and to share your love. You are alive, so take your life and enjoy it. Don’t resist life passing through you, because that is God passing through you. Just your existence proves the existence of God. Your existence proves the existence of life and energy.” don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom

But let me give you 2 warnings, be careful with who you share you dreams with.

1) In your quest beware of those who don’t believe in your dreams, those who would call you foolish for setting your goals–realize that that is their reality and it’s not real, they’ve chosen to take the blue pill and believe their own reality–but you can choose to take the red pill and know your truth and God’s truth for you. Don’t take what these people say personally… “Taking things personally makes you prey for predators. They can hook your attention with one little opinion, and feed you whatever poison they want. Refuse to eat poison!” don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements–-refuse to eat the poison sometimes this might MEAN walking away from those people, deciding to walk away maybe the best thing you can do for yourself…it’s an act of love towards yourself

2) The other person you need to be watching for is yourself and your thoughts every day…too often we choose to take the blue pill and believe what has happened to us in the past is who we are and we allow those thoughts derail us. We are our worst critics too often, we listen to those self doubts and give into them, all of which are lies and untruths–-I’m reminded of a scripture  “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..” Proverbs 23:7 so what can we do? We need to protect ourselves from those negative and self doubting thoughts by filling our mind and spirit with the truth…the truth that God loves us and that he wants us to be happy and fulfilled––where and how can we do this? One of the places is the scriptures, this is where you can read and hear the truth right from God speaking right to you “…For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them…” 2 Nephi 4:15 You can also fill your mind with other goodness with watching and listening to recorded inspiring people who are or who have accomplished their dreams, you can be around other like minded individuals (friends, family), you can find a mentor, life coach and/or therapists to help you through your mind blocks–-but whatever you do DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS
